About A.D.A.P.T. Email Groups
Communication is a key part of a successful emergency response program. With A.D.A.P.T. email groups, area leaders are able to communicate with their neighbors quickly and anonymously about any neighborhood-wide safety issues.
Email Groups FAQ
What is the purpose of an A.D.A.P.T. email group?
The purpose of the email group is to extend Atherton’s emergency preparedness efforts via neighborhood-based communications. The groups allow Area Coordinators to reach the residents of their area with important safety-related announcements, without sharing everyone’s email addresses.
How does someone join the email group?
All area residents are welcome to participate! Just send an email to your Area Coordinator or to A.D.A.P.T. at info@getreadyatherton.org.
Can I send a message to the group?
Only the Area or Block Coordinator can send messages to the email group.
How often will I receive email?
We anticipate a very low volume - no more than once per month - unless there’s an emergency in your neighborhood.
Does this mean I’ll receive emergency alerts?
No - these email groups do not replace the official emergency alert system at www.smcalert.org. We highly recommend that all Atherton residents sign up for SMC Alert to ensure that you receive official notifications from the county.
What if I want to stop receiving emails or change my email address?
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every group email message, or by sending a message to info@getreadyatherton.org. Subscription preferences can also be changed by logging into your Google account at groups.google.com.
